Professional Activities

Equipment Grants:

  • Ontario Research Fund (ORF) Award of $92,886 to purchase Truck Driving Simulator, June 2012.
  • Canada Foundation of Innovations (CFI) Award of $92,886 to purchase Truck Driving Simulator, October 2011.
  • US NAVY Equipments for the Vehicle Dynamics and Simulation Research Center. The total value of $53,915 in 2006.
  • DYNTRAC (four heavy-duty post shakers) including all control units and structure from FHWA to PTI. This system will be operated in Altoona under the Bus Testing and Research Center. The FHWA’s official estimation of the value of this system is $1 Million. This new system will establish new research capabilities in the field of heavy vehicle dynamics (1998)
  • Established Vehicle Simulation Laboratory for vehicle dynamics simulation and FEA for crash and tire modeling funded by ESI Group and Private Industry.  Total value of $150,000. Started in 1998.
  • Established Truck Driving Simulator Laboratory for heavy vehicle dynamics funded by Renault, Mac Trucks, STI, and Moog.  Total value of $550,000. Started in 1998.
  • Re-established the crash testing center and built a new guiding system for high-speed crash of passenger and pickup trucks. This new hardware value was $70,000 and fully funded by external sources. Completed in 1998.
